Miriam Works
Prior to launching her own firm, Miriam served as Assistant Director of FireWorks Gallery helping grow the contemporary crafts gallery from one to five stores in the Seattle area. She was a manager and buyer for nationally noted international crafts gallery La Tienda, assisting in developing the American Craft selection as well as working with artisans from around the world.
Miriam has served on juries and selection panels for a range of Northwest arts organizations including Northwest Folklife Festival, Bellevue Arts Fair and Washington Clay Arts Association. She has volunteered her services for Pratt Fine Arts Center, Northwest Designer Craftsmen and Hopelink.
While earning her BA degree from the University of Washington, concentrating in art education, Miriam worked with artists who are traditionally outside the mainstream, developing arts programs for Seattle Mental Health Institute (now Sound Mental Health), Community Services for the Blind and United Cerebral Palsy Center. Miriam’s workshop on marketing and business skills for artists has been translated into Braille by the Center for Disability Studies at the University of Hawai’i.
